BHOPAL : TV actors Manashi Parekh Gohil and Vikram Kochhar were in the city of lakes on Tuesday to promote Star Plus’ upcoming serial ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ which will be aired from August 31.
STAR Plus is bringing to its viewers a hilarious take on the delicate and often no-win situation every man faces after marriage with the Indian rendition of Everybody Loves Raymond, the globally acclaimed sitcom. The show offers a light-hearted take on how after marriage, a man often finds himself caught between the two most important ladies of his life.
Addressing the media persons at Jehan Numa Palace Hotel, Gohil who is playing the character of Maya Walia said, “Maya, my character, is a homemaker with 2 kids who constantly has lots of things up her sleeves. She believes that marriage is an institution in which one person is always right and the other person is the husband. This show throws light on marriage and its ups and downs brilliantly. I relate to Maya because even though I don’t have kids yet, I understand her position as a wife and a daughter-in-law.”
“Playing Rajneesh Walia has been a wonderful experience but it came with its own set of challenges. Not only did I have to play the role of a jealous older brother but also adapt to the original characters of Robert from the original series. I hope the audiences love what I have done to the show,” Vikram Kochhar added.
Popular veteran actress, Bharati Achrekar will be seen essaying the role of Dolly Walia – Sumit’s nosy and interfering mother and joining her will be one of Bollywood’s most acclaimed actor-directors – Satish Kaushik, who is back with his larger than life persona and impeccable comic timing.
Moreover, ‘Sumit Sambhal Lega’ follows the story of a Punjabi family, and stars seasoned actor Namit Das as the protagonist SumitWalia. Sumit is a sports journalist who unwillingly finds himself in a constant tug-of-war between his wife, Maya and his mother Dolly.
