Jhabua : According to the information received from TI Bhabahar, a truck GT 6901 was stolen from Godhra at around 2.30am on April 26, 2014. The truck which had many sorts of retail items stored in it was found empty in Meghnagar area. The items were general stock consisting of Vimal worth Rs 4 lakh and Dal worth Rs 6 lakh.
When the police recovered the truck, it was found empty. The cops then tried to find the thief who stole the material that was loaded in the truck.
According to sources, the cops received a tip off about the stolen Vimal being smuggled in a Maruti Van, after which police tracked the van and interrogated its owner.
The police acting on the information given by the van owner raided a godown owned by one of the renowned families of Meghnagar and found rest of the items that were loaded on the truck. The family has left Meghnagar after the news broke out, but many from Meghnagar are saying that there is something wrong.
When the reporter tried gathering more information from the Thana, the TI reported that the truck has been taken away by the Gujarat Police. When asked about the Maruti Van issue, he said that it is a separate matter and does not relate to the stolen truck issue.
