STF to tighten noose on biggies through court

BHOPAL: The Special Task Force (STF), on Tuesday, handed over a confidential sealed envelope to Chief Justice Manikrao Khanwilkar. The envelope was handed over by STF chief Sudhir Shahi  Sources say that the envelope contains a list of high-profile accused in the Vyapam scam along with details of evidences against them.

The STF, sources said, may arrest them after a nod from the court. The STF has already submitted its second status report on its ongoing investigation into 47 cases related to frauds in examinations conducted by the Madhya Pradesh Professional Examination Board (PEB) on last Friday. On April 26, High Court had directed STF to submit weekly status report on its investigations.

STF had informed the HC that it has taken over investigations of 37 cases related to PEB scam from police stations across the state. Out of 37, charge-sheets were filed in 16 cases in Indore, Gwalior, Bhopal and Rewa districts. On April 15, the high court had rejected 14 petitions seeking transfer of probe into PEB scam to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and had decided to monitor the prove itself.

Deputy Advocate General Purushaindra Kaurav said, “The hearing in the case was scheduled for Tuesday in the High Court but the date has been extended till May 12.  STF has already submitted second status report.

It has been decided that STF DIGs will attend hearings in the HC. There are many cases with STF and they are being investigated into by teams headed by DIGs. They will appear before the High Court to update the court on the progress in the probes.

Pmt fraud: Middleman  on PR till May 8

BHOPAL: Middleman Hemant Badgaiya has been sent to police remand till May 8 in PMT-2012 admission fraud.  Medical representative Badgaiya was produced in the court of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari.

DSP STF Indresh Tripathi, interacting with media on court premises, said, “Badgaiya has been taken to police remand till May 8. He had taken Rs 1 lakh as his ‘commission’ from other middleman Akhilesh Chaturvedi for selection of Gunita Bansal, daughter of Dr Bansal of Jabalpur, in PMT-2012.  Gunita Bansal has already got anticipatory bail”.

Tripathi said, “Badgaiya used to work with Akhilesh Chaturvedi who is involved in PMT admission fraud, Milk Federation recruitment and has links with Santosh Gupta, Nitin Mahindra and Tarang Sharma”.

MBBS students, three others sent to jail

MBBS students Sunil Kumar Atasi, Raj Kumar Prajpati and Dwarka Verma have been sent to judicial remand in forest guard recruitment fraud up to May 19. They were arrested on last Friday. They were produced in the court of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari on Tuesday after their police remand expired on Tuesday.

Virendra Yadav, Sharad Yadav and Govind Chauhan have been sent to jail in connection with police constable recruitment fraud till May 17.  STF had produced them in the court of CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari and they were sent to jail.

Arrest warrants for two

CJM court has issued arrest warrant for Sonu Raghuvanshi in Sub-Inspector recruitment fraud and Ajay Pawar in police constable recruitment fraud. STF filed a petition for property attachment in the both the cases, after which the CJM Pankaj Singh Maheshwari issued arrest warrant.
