BHOPAL : The state police force may get new wireless sets to beef up the security arrangements. The need of the new wireless sets was being felt in view the upcoming Simhastha Prava in Ujjain next year. In this regards Home Minister Babulal Gaur who was on the visit of New Delhi on Thursday met Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology Ravi Shankar Prasad and discussed the matter with him.
Gaur requested Prasad for helping the state to procure new wireless sets. He also requested the minister to reduce the license fee which is needed to be paid per wireless set for using it. The license fee is being charged by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology after which it issues licenses to operate wireless sets. The proposal of the state government had been pending with the union ministry for long for which Gaur met the minister. Gaur also requested him to waive off the license fee due on the existing sets so that they can also be used.
