BHOPAL : The state Congress working committee meeting is scheduled on Wednesday. Impending assembly by-elections in Nepa Nagar and Shahdol will be discussed in the meeting. Some top congress leaders have not given their consent to attend the meeting.

Organisational secretary Chandrika Dwivedi informed that some leaders have informed that they would be attending the meeting. They include AICC general Secretary Digvijay Singh, Satyavrat Chaturvedi and Suresh Pachauri.

But former minister Kamalnath and Joytiraditya Scindia have not given their consent. They have informed that they will be going to attend the meeting called by the AICC vice president Rahul Gandhi at Delhi on October 6.

PCC president Arun Yadav will chair the Wednesday’s meeting. In the meeting, constituency-wise Jan Samvad cell, establishment of polling booth committees, membership campaign and upcoming by-elections in Nepa Nagar and Shahdol will be discussed.

The party also plans to organise state-level meeting of office-bearers of panchayat and urban civic bodies. It wants to stop the manipulation in the voters’ list being prepared by the government.
