BHOPAL: The Special Protection Group (SPG) has taken over the charge of security following the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the state capital on Friday. The PM would attend three programmes on the day.
The borders of the city have been sealed. One can enter the city through seven entry points at Misrod, Bilkheria, Sukhi Sevenia, Gungakheri Eintkheri, Parwralia, Khajuri and Ratibad. The cops are thoroughly conducting checking at entry point. All the vehicles are being permitted to enter the city after proper checking.
The police are also intensively checking the people coming to the city and staying at hotels, lodges and dharamshala.
The SPG personnel have taken over control of the Shourya Smarak, Jain Temple area and Lal Parade ground and sealed the areas.
At Jain temple the police have issued passes to the organisers and other people who would be present during the PM’s visit. The police would lock down rooms following the security.
DGP Rishi Shukla held a meeting with the police officials at police control room, and assessed the security measures.
A rehearsal was organised to check the security lapses. Heavy police force has been deployed at the route on which the PM’s convoy would pass. Police personnel have been deployed at the high rise buildings, lower lake and other places.
Vehicles equipped with modern gadgets would be keeping an eye on the passers-by and high resolution cameras have been established at every point.
At Lal Parade ground digital screens have been erected inside and outside the ground for better visuals.
