BHOPAL : An ITI will be established at Bairagarh-based 3 EME Centre to impart training of motor mechanic to soldiers. Higher and technical education minister Umashankar Gupta presented affiliation letter of skill development department to Col SK Yadav on Thursday. Such an experiment is being undertaken for the first time in the country in Madhya Pradesh.
The department will conduct exam of trainees of this centre. On demand by Army, the department will make available trainers and special training will be imparted to them at Bhopal ITI.
The Minister directed for necessary action to recognize ITI degree for recruitment in Army.
He said that he would hold discussions with Defence Minister in this regard. This will benefit ITI pass students throughout the country.
Principal secretary, technical education, Sanjay Singh, PS, higher education, KK Singh, director, skill development, M Sibi Chakravarti, Lt Col Vijay Bhatt, Major KN Singh and Model ITI Bhopal’s Principal Sunil Desai were also present on the occasion.
