Mandsaur : The panchayat secretaries performed sit-in demanding their salary at the district headquarters situated Janpad Panchayat office. The secretaries showed their anger over due salary as well as no payment of wages to the laborers even after MGNREGA budget approved. The protesters shouted slogans against the administration.
The CEO Janpad Ashok Jain organized a meeting with the agitating secretaries. After the meeting, the secretaries performed the sit-in outside the Janpad Panchayat office. The district president of the secretary union said that the secretaries should be given their salary by date 5 of every month. For past a few months, the salary comes after date 20.
The laborers worked under MGNREGA scheme but their payment was not made so far. This blows an anti-secretaries wind among the laborers even when the secretaries are not at fault. The administration has got the amount of the MGNREGA scheme but still the amount has not been transferred into accounts of the laborers. The state president of the union Kishor Singh Gurjar said “the beneficieries are not getting amount of the toilet construction. Remuneration of the economic calculation is not paid.” Pradeep Vyas, Parvat Singh Anjana, Jagdish Sharma, Sangram Singh, Virendra Singh, Rakesh Patidar, Shyam Sharma many other secretaries were present during the protest.
The CEO Janpad Panchayat Ashok Jain accused the secretaries of delaying the duties. According to him the secretaries did not complete the given task within the given time frame.
“Collector and the district ECOs have been instructed to hold the salaries of the secretaries since they did not work on time. Apart from this, the secretaries filled up the information about the physically challenged on time.
On the other hand MGNREGA amount is being deposited into the accounts of the laborers on priority basis. The secretaries without prior information have protested and boycotted the meeting.” CEO Janpad Panchyat, Ashok Jain
