Alot: Additional district and session court of judge Iqbal Khan Gouri sentenced life imprisonment to two in connection with 2010 Siraj murder case here on Friday. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 50,000 each on accused and ordered to pay this amount to the deceased’s mother Mumtaj.
Government lawyer Mohan Lal Vyas informed that the court found accused Babu alias Majhar and Firoz guilty under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and sentenced life imprisonment. Vyas informed that in 2010, Siraj, son of Mohammed Hussien was shot dead by main accused Majhar, resident of Gautampur at his Bus Stand situated shop. At that time, Majhar and Firoz came on their motorcycle and fired at Siraj. Later, Firoz helped Majhar to escape from the spot on his motorcycle.
Later, police booked total six persons including main accused Majhar and Firoz and submitted chargesheet against them in the court. After six years hearing and statements of 40 witnesses, the
court found Majhar and Firoz guilty of the crime. Court acquitted four others on the basis of benefit of doubt.
