SHIVPURI : Police, on information, raided several shops where SIMs were being sold using fake Ids. Pohri police caught an accused and interrogated him and also took action against the shopkeepers in the town on Saturday.

According to sources, the thieves struck at the house of Pinku Sharma on April 21 and took away mobile and after purchasing a SIM on fake ID started using it. The Police, tracing the location caught the accused and also registered a case against the shopkeeper under section 420 of IPC.

Sources said that the thieves had taken away gold-silver jewellery and mobile phone from the house of Pinku Sharma and later police came to know that the mobile was being used with SIM bought on fake ID. Police came to know that Rahul Singh, resident of house number 179, Atar Singh, resident of house No-1 Sewa Khedi, Meera wife of Jawar, resident of 268B Hiloniya, Guna had purchased these SIMs.

Later, police caught a youth Rahul Balmiki who was using these SIMs in stolen mobile phone.  The arrested youth said that he had purchased SIM from a shopkeeper Rakesh Gupta from Main Market, Pohri. The shopkeeper had charged additional amount and issued SIMs preparing fake ID. Police interrogated the arrested youth Rahul Balmiki about the theft occurred at the residence of Pinku Sharma.

The youth said that he did not steal mobile but found it on the way and used it. Police also started efforts to arrest SIM sellers Rakesh Gupta and Pankaj Gupta.
