BHOPAL: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP candidate Gyan Singh are devoting all their energies to ensure the party’s victory in the Shahdol Lok Sabha bye-polls but the prestige of eight ministers is also at stake in the elections. Chouhan has deputed these ministers – one for each assembly segment – in the constituency. They have been asked not to interfere in the other assembly segments and focus only on their own.
The votes cast in favour of BJP will help in assessing the impact of these ministers. The eight assembly segments of Shahdol constituency are spread over four districts Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur and Katni.
Minister Rajendra Shukla has been assigned the responsibility of Jaisinghnagar assembly constituency which is in Shahdol district. Pramila Singh, who is from BJP, is the local MLA. Shukla was made in-charge minister of Shahdol in the recent past. Gondwana Gantantra Party also has influence in some pockets of this area. BJP considers winning this area as very important. Vishwas Sarang has been given the responsibility of Jaitpur assembly area of Shahdol district. Jaisingh Maravi, who is from BJP, is the MLA from here. The lead of votes gained from this area will decide the outcome of the bye-polls.
Badwara assembly seat, which is in Katni district, has been assigned to Sanjay Pathak. Local BJP MLA Moti Kashyap is also working in this area. The lead of votes in this area is considered to be very significant for party’s win.
Omprakash Dhurvey has been given the responsibility of Anuppur assembly seat. Dhurvey is also in-charge minister of this district. The lead gained from this seat which is in BJP kitty, will be decisive.
Rampal Singh is looking after Kotma assembly seat. The lone general category seat in this area belongs to Congress. Chouhan is banking on Rampal’s hard work, who is trying to give Congress a tough fight from this seat.
Pushprajgarh is considered to be Congress stronghold. Bhupendra Singh has been given charge of this seat. If margin of votes of Congress gets reduced from this seat, then it would be considered to be Singh’s success.
Manpur assembly seat of Umaria belongs to BJP and Gaurishankar Bisen and Lal Singh Arya are deputed here. BJP is expecting to gain lead from this seat. Minister Gyan Singh in the government is MLA from Bandhavgarh assembly seat. BJP hopes of getting a big lead from this seat.
These ministers, who are deputed for Shahdol Lok Sabha bye-polls, are trying to show their might by ensuring that the party wins from their respective areas.
