BHOPAL : A 35-year-old married woman committed suicide by jumping in the Sarangpani Lake near Piplani police station on Friday afternoon. A missing person’s case was lodged by the husband of the deceased merely half an hour before her body was spotted by a fisherman. He informed the police and the identity of the body was ascertained. The deceased left a suicide note in her house before committing suicide in which she stated depression as the main reason behind taking the extreme step. She also sought blessings for the long life of her husband as she committed suicide on the occasion of Karwa Chouth.

Investigation officer SI SK Chauhan said that the deceased has been identified as Archana Singh, 35, wife of Narendra Singh Ahirwar, resident of Gopal Nagar, Khajuri Kalan Road within the limits of Piplani police station. Her body was spotted by a fisherman around 1.30 pm. SI Chauhan said that the husband of the deceased works in a private company dealing in CCTVs at Malviya Nagar. When he returned home around 10 am on Friday morning he found that Archana was missing from home.

He asked his 6-year-old son Siddharth about her but he expressed ignorance. His sister and mother too expressed their ignorance. They tried to search for her but couldn’t succeed. In the meantime they came across a suicide note written by Archana following which they rushed to the police station. SI Chauhan said that within minutes of filing a missing person’s case the information of a body found in Sarangpani Lake reached the police station and it was identified to be of Archana.

He said that in the suicide note Archana wrote that she was taking the step as she was unable to control her depression.
