Garoth : As many as 100 people including women and children were taken ill after they consumed contaminated water in a nearby village. The incident was an outcome of negligence of village panchayat.
Several persons from village Sathkhera began complaining of vomiting and stomach ache early on Thursday morning and soon a large number of villagers reached the primary health centre. The number of women patients was higher and some of them were admitted while many others discharge after primary treatment. The villagers attributed the incident to the gross negligence of office bearers of village panchayat as a pipeline was laid for drinking water and highly contaminated water from gutters seeped in pipeline through leakages.
