BHOPAL : The National Students Union of India (NSIU) has demanded apology from MPCC key spokesman KK Mishra for his alleged statement about accepting resignation of the organisation’s office-bearers saying that he fuelled the anger of NSUI workers seeking civic election tickets.

NSUI state in-charge Nikhil Dwivedi said, “Congress spokesman KK Mishra should either seek apology or solve the issue emerged after his statement in media about accepting resignation of NSUI state president Vipin Vankhere and others.”

Dwivedi, in a telephonic conversation, said it was the NSUI workers’ right to demand ticket and expressed resentment in case of denial. Their resentment, however, was further fuelled when Mishra made a statement about acceptance of resignations even as the Congress in State has no role to accept or reject resignation of the NSUI workers.

Mishra had said all those who gave resignation in media following ticket distribution, had been accepted by the party.

On Sunday, six more district presidents of the student outfit of the Congress – Dindori, Ashok Nagar, Panna, Shahdol, Ujjain and Rajgarh submitted resignation in protest against denial of election tickets, along with a state general secretary. They sent their resignations to national president Rosy John.A total number of 21 district presidents, one national general secretary, three national delegates and several other office-bearers have given up their posts.

Nikhil said he would reach Indore on January 13 to talk with the Congress leaders and resolve the matter.
