BHOPAL: The Department of Management of the Bhopal School of Social Sciences (BSSS College) conducted a session on female infanticide and sex education for the students of class VIII of government middle school situated at Bijli Nagar colony, Govindpura. This was done as a part of the social outreach programme of the department. The student volunteers under the supervision of the teachers in charge of the programme Dr. Smitha Pillai and Dr. Rasmeet Kaur presented a skit before the students to remove their misconceptions like the role of make chromosomes in determing the sex of the child. The society blames women for the birth of a female, which was dramatically represented by our students; they also depicted the plight of woman in such a scenario. The children were also oriented regarding the rights of a girl child.
