BHOPAL : Sensation prevailed in BHEL area when an employee of Saurav Dairy was shot at on Sunday evening under Piplani police station. He has been admitted to Kasturba Hospital after he sustained bullet injures in his leg. His condition is, however, reported to be out of danger. The main reason behind the attack on the youth seems to be a bid to terrorise him. He was shot at from a close range of 5ft.
As per the police, Vilan Lakara, 35, resident of sector-A 235-D BHEL, was shot at in the evening when he got down from his car with his family. Hiss wife and children had entered the house but Lakara was parking his car. In the meantime, an unidentified youth, who was wearing helmet concealing his face, opened the fire.
Immediately, the cops were informed. A police team rushed to the spot for investigation and he was rushed to Kashturba Hospital.
Assailant managed to flee from the spot after the incident. Victim could not identify him and notice the registration number of the bike.
Investigating officer (IO) Anil Tiwari said, “The victim had returned from market. His wife and children went upstairs but Lakra was adjusting his car on the premises. In the meantime, some unidentified bike-borne youth approached him and opened fire within a rage of five ft. Lakra sustained gunshot injuries in his leg. His condition is out of danger.”
Incidentally, today’s was the second firing incident in the state capital within a span of three months. School students had opened fire on Ramnavomi at BDA Colony, Mata Mandir area in April 2016. TT Nagar police had booked joint director (horticulture) ML Nagar on the charges of violation of the Arms Act in the connection with the firing incident. The firing was believed to be the fallout of school students’ old rivalry and their target was any school student.
