Slain Amit Chouhan’s friend Manoj passes away during treatment on Sunday; BJP men agitate
BHOPAL: Bajaria police are still clueless about the assailants involved in double murder case that occurred on Saturday evening at Mari Mata Mandir area. One victim had died on Saturday and one more died during the course of treatment on Sunday.
Tension prevailed in the area on Sunday as residents staged a roadblock protesting the murder. Heavy police force has been deployed in the area to control any untoward situation.
BJP supporters raised slogans against the police and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits. Some shops also remained closed following the tension.
SHO DP Singh said on Saturday, bike-born assailants attacked BJP worker Amit Chouhan with sword, when he was standing at a Dwarka Nagar culvert. The assailants were having old dispute with Chouhan.
Along with Amit, Manoj Kushwaha was also standing. When he came to save Amit, the assailants opened two fires on Manoj.
They were rushed to a private hospital, but Amit died on Saturday late evening, whereas Manoj died during course of treatment on Sunday early morning.
As soon as the news spread, BJP workers along with cooperative minister Vishwas Sarang reached the hospital. They remained camped in the area, till morning. The post-mortem was conducted in Hamidia Hospital on Sunday morning.
The police have registered the case under Section 302 of IPC against Banti Sahu and Pawan Sisodiya including four more and searching the culprits.
