Dhar: A team of Sardarpur police have seized a cache of explosives and arrested two persons in this regard. The Dhar SP Rajesh Hingankar had given instructions to all police stations to conduct strict checking against storage of explosives. A team of Sardarpur police while on a checking drive located a truck (MP09 HF 7637) on AB Road. Two persons who were on the truck tried to flee but were caught after a chase. These two, Irfan and Dinesh told the police that the truck was laden with ammonium nitrate but they could not produce relevant documents and valid permission letter. The police team found 480 bags of ammonium nitrate from the truck. The two persons who were duly arrested told the police that the explosive was being taken from Bharuch (Gujarat) to Baidan Sindhi (MP).
Fire-cracker godown sealed in Mandsaur
Licensed godown storing fire crackers and detonators were checked by SDM Rajan B Nadia in Suwasara and Sitamau area. The team found irregularities in three godowns of Malwa Enterprises on Borkhedi Road storing fire crackers. Stock list was not maintained and no safety arrangements were made at these godowns which were subsequently sealed.
Later the team inspected godown of Jai Raghunath Traders in Sitamau where 150 detonators and one and half cases of gelatine was found. The godown in charge informed the police that it had license for storing detonators. However, the fire cracker godown was sealed as it had neither fire fighting equipments nor arrangement for water and sand.
