BHOPAL : The MLAs of Bharatiya Janata Party in the House on Wednesday attacked their own party government. MLAs Bahadur Singh Chauhan, Satyapal Singh Sikarwar, Parul Sahu and Rajkumar Mev leveled allegations of corruption.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra, upset over BJP MLAs attacking the government, said our MLAs are playing the role of opposition MLAs and Opposition. The opposition MLAs thoroughly enjoyed the treasury benches grilling the government and many a times, they appreciated the questions raised by them by thumping their desks.

Land mafia ruling the roost: Sikarwar

BJP MLA Satyapal Singh Sikarwar alleged that the Pattas of land of SC, STs were being sold by the land mafia. Raising the issue of Morena, he sought names and addresses in 99 cases in which permission was granted for transfer of Pattas. Sikarwar said the rules and regulations were not being followed. He alleged that an important part of his question had been removed. He claimed that land mafia has got these permissions issued. Congress MLA Govind Singh, supporting Sikarwar, termed Revenue Department as a ‘Heaven of Corruption’. Revenue Minister Rampal Singh assured the House of getting the cases of Morena examined.

I was offered money for not raising issue: Chauhan

MLA from Mahidpur, Bahadur Singh Chauhan alleged that the accused in a seed scam are being given protection. Chauhan claimed that Police have taken money in lakhs to save the accused. A case in this connection has been filed against one Navlakha Seed Company. Chauhan said he has been given offers to not to raise this issue. He demanded to send a senior officer from Bhopal to get the matter probed. His demand was accepted by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra.

Send TI out of district : Sahu

BJP MLA from Surkhi, Parul Sahu demanded to post Jaisinagar Police Station in-charge RP Rawat out of district and not to assign him charge of any Police Station also. Sahu claimed that the said TI was filing case against minors. Sahu’s demand was also accepted by Parliamentary Affairs Minister in the House.

‘CM’s announcement of horticulture hub not implemented’

MLA from Maheshwar, Rajkumar Mev raised the issue of non-implementation of announcement of horticulture hub by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on June 29, 2012. Mev said he had raised the issue earlier too. MLA KK Shrivastava too raised the issue of non-implementation of CM’s announcement of horticulture hub in Bundelkhand.

Two new private varsities to come up in State

The Madhya Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, on Wednesday, gave its nod to the establishment of two new private universities in the state, including Dr APJ Abdul Kalam University and Malwanchal University. Ayushmati Education and Social Society will run APJ Abdul Kalam University, while Mayanks Welfare Society Indore will run Malwanchal University. Both the universities will have their main campus at Indore and their jurisdiction will entire Madhya Pradesh. Higher Education Minister Uma Shankar Gupta, who tabled the MP Private Universities (Amendment) bill providing for the creation of the universities, said that the government has not made Foundation Course mandatory for students of professional courses as it would make it difficult for foreigner and NRI students to clear such courses. Gupta also said that the government would promote and encourage only those who have experience of running colleges to open universities. Outsiders will be discouraged from opening universities in the state. It was Congress MLA Mukesh Nayak who had raised the point during discussion on Private Universities (Amendment) Bill in the House. Nayak said, “There must not be any mandatory foundation course in colleges and universities as it is a hindrance for foreigner and NRI students. Universities should be global and not confined to districts. They should not be like factories churning out graduates”, he said.
