Rs 32L in invalid notes seized from hotel in Bhopal

BHOPAL: Invalidated currency notes worth Rs 32 lakh was seized from Shivalik Hotel under Hanumanganj police station on the intervening night of Sunday-Monday. A case has been registered under Section 102 of CrPC which gives power to police officer to seize property.

As per the police, Sanjay Sharma who introduced himself as builder of Sidharth Lake City (Bhopal), had Rs 32 lakh in a bag. All the notes were of Rs 500 denomination. Police sized the currencies as he could not five satisfactory reply.

Investigating Officer KC Shukla said, “Sanjay told police that he had money to strike deal but no one came in hotel for the deal. We seized the money. Now the case will be in the court and if court thinks fit, the court will give his money back to him.”
