BHOPAL : The Hanumanganj police, on Wednesday registered a case of forgery against three unidentified youths who allegedly withdrew cash Rs 20,000 from the bank account of ASI (CID) at SBI ATM machine located at Hamidia Road.
A complaint was lodged by the victim policeman around two months ago however a case in this regard was registered by the police on Wednesday after preliminary investigation in which the complaint was found to be true.
Police said that victim Nandjeet Singh resides at Israni market and was posted as ASI in CID wing. In his complaint ASI told police that on May
15, he went to SBI ATM machine at Hamidia Road to check his account balance. In the meantime, three youths came inside ATM machine and before he could press cancel button, one of the accused pressed other button after which the machine stopped working.
Later he went to ATM guard to report the problem but the guard was not present and he started searching for the guard. In the meantime, trio accused withdrew Rs 20,000 from victim’s account.
Nandjeet came to know about the transaction following an SMS which came on his mobile phone. Subsequently, the victim approached at Hanumanganj police station and made a complaint in this regard.
After carrying out preliminary investigation for around 2 months, the police have registered a case under section 420 of the IPC against unidentified three youths and started search to nab them.
