Ratlam’s water problems to be solved soon with completion of UIDSSMT

Ratlam : Ratlam city MLA Chetanya Kashyap stressed the need of early completion of the Water Supply Augmentation Scheme (UIDSSMT) so that the people could get water as earliest possible under this scheme. Kashyap visited the Dholawad Reservoir and Morwani Filter Plant near here on Wednesday, where the work was at the final stage under the UIDSSMT.Kashyap also said that Dholawad Reservoir can be developed for the adventurous sports and can also be developed as picnic spot. Mayor Sheilendra Daga, who accompanied him said that city will get one crore gallon of water on completion of this scheme. This will result adequate water supply to the railways and for Industrial use.

Daga said that at Morwani Filter plant modern equipment will be installed for which he urged Kashyap for getting sanctioned scheme from State government. Commissioner Ratlam Municipal Corporation Somnath Jharia said that so far a sum of Rs 38 crore have been spent under the UDSSMT and four phases have been completed.

The fifth phase is in progress and under this 103 KM pipeline is being laid in the city. The overhead tanks of the city have been attached with the new pipelines and soon the work of water supply will start under the UIDSSMT.
