BHOPAL : Rati Tripathi, who was pushed from running Malwa Express by looters and found in a pool of blood on the railway tracks near Bina station, arrived in the city to call on CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Wednesday.
She was pushed from the S-7 coach of Malwa Express on November 19, 2014 after she caught one of the thieves by his hair while he was trying to flee with her purse. Tripathi chased them through coach corridor and nearly nabbed one of robbers at the gate of the moving train.
Tripathi’s parents filed a suit seeking damages of Rs 99 lakh against the Railways on the grounds of deficiency in service. However, shrugging off its responsibility for ensuring safety of train passengers, the Railways, in its reply submitted before Madhya Pradesh Consumer Grievances Redressal Commission said that what happened with Tripathi was a law and order issue, which is in the realm of the state government and is handled by the GRP.
Advocate Priyanath Pathak, while talking to Free Press, said, “Rati Tripathi had come to Bhopal to meet CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan but she could not meet as CM was not available. She is demanding justice.”
