Rashly driven car mounts footpath, hits three youths

BHOPAL: Three youths were severely injured after they were hit by a rashly driven Alto car which mounted the footpath on VIP Road and later turned turtle in Koh-e-Fiza area on Wednesday.

The traffic police personnel rushed to rescue the injured youth who were taken to Hamidia hospital while the errant car driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle on the spot which was later seized by the police.

According to police sources, the injured youths have been identified as Waseem, Om Prakash and Kaleem who went to VIP Road on Upper Lake near the statue of Raja Bhoj on Wednesday morning.

 Here they were standing on the footpath and in the meantime a red Maruti Alto car bearing registration number MP 04 CA 8938 running at a very high speed lost balance and mounted the footpath and overturned.

In the road mishap, three youths were hit by the rashly driven car. It was not clear that whether the accused driver was drunk at the time of incident as he fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle which was later seized by the police. The vehicle is registered in the name of a person named IA Khan of Fateh Ali Complex near Chirayu Hospital in Malipura.
