BHOPAL: In the series of city police nabbing people carrying cash amount exceeding Rs 50,000, as the model code of conduct in under force, two people were detained separately by Sukhi Sewaniya and Misrod police along with Rs 11.50 lakh and Rs 1.56 lakh respectively on Monday.
In the first incident, Sukhi Sewaniya police nabbed a 45- year- old man who was carrying cash amount of Rs 11.50 lakh in Scorpio during the ongoing vehicle checking drive near police station on Monday at 3: 30pm.
Police said that the detained person was identified as Rajesh, 45, son of Rajesh Jaiswal Singh who was working as an accountant at Patanjali ogpeeth in Haridwar. Police further said that during the interrogation, Rajesh told police that he hired Scorpio from Sagar and was about to go Delhi along with cash.
He also presented the documents to police but could not provide any satisfactory reply to the questions. Subsequently, police registered a case under section 102 of IPC and after seizing money later informed the flying squad of Election Commission.
Meanwhile, in yet another similar incident, Misrod police nabbed a 36- year- old person during vehicle checking drive while carrying cash amount of Rs 1.56 lakh in a case on Monday morning.
The person was identified as Nitin, 36, son of Raghunandan adav, who hails from Chindwara district and was carrying cash amount of Rs 1.56 lakh in a briefcase in his car bearing registration number MP 28 BA 0009.
Earlier on Sunday night, Gunga police had recovered a cash amount of Rs 2.43 lakh at Eitkhedi Chowki from a person named Ashok, 32 son of Shabhu Shrivastava, a resident of Punjabi Bagh.
