BHOPAL : An arrested burglar told crime branch that he used to roam disguised as a rag-picker to recce the houses which he used to target in the night. He used to break windows and locks of backdoor to enter the house and would escape with the valuables. The accused targeted houses in Shahjehanabad, Koh-e-Fiza, Mangalwara, Bag Sewania and Gautam Nagar.
Crime branch nabbed two miscreants involved in ten burglaries and recovered valuables worth Rs 10 lakh from their possession. DIG Raman Singh Sikarwar gave the information while speaking with the media persons on Sunday.Acting on a tip off, police team swung into action and detained the youth who was trying to sell jewelry near Bhopal talkies area. The police team recovered gold and silver jewelry from his possession. Ultimately he confessed that he tried to sell jewellery which he had stolen. The miscreant was identified as Pochi Singh (25) of Uneeda village, said Sikarwar. The accused had committed several burglaries in the past with the help of Saleem Khan (48) of Tallaya area of the city.
The recovered goods were stolen two months ago from Lalghati area. Gold and silver jewellery, a TV and wrist watches worth Rs 10 lakh were recovered from the accused who confessed to committing 10 burglaries.
