BHOPAL: Inspector general of police Nandan Dubey in a circular has said that after the investigations, the prosecution should decide whether there is any error or shortcoming in the challan. If there is any shortcoming, the prosecuting officer should direct the investigating officer to make the required efforts to remove them.

It should be ensured that the evidence recorded during the investigations is correct and justifiable and appropriate evidences should only be presented during the trial. Dubey directed all the police officers of the state to increase the conviction percentage in various cases by improving the quality of investigations.

He said that the investigations should be completed in time and the orders and directions of the Supreme Court passed in various criminal cases appeals regarding the witnesses turning hostile should be followed up.
