BHOPAL : Privates Schools Association will demonstrate at TT Nagar Dusshera Maidan on Saturday in support of their 10-point demands. Private schools affiliated to MPBSE are up in arms against the fees guidelines issued by State government. Their associations announced to hold a demonstration. However, CBSE affiliated schools are not joining them.
State school education department has issued guidelines putting a cap of ten per cent on annual hike in fee and setting up two-tier committees for fee regulation. MPBSE-affiliated schools have raised objection on it even though they said they won’t be affected much because of new regulations.
Association president Ajit Singh, talking to Free Press, said, “The government did not talk with us before finalising the guidelines. The schools decide fee structure considering development and other aspects like salary to staff. Soon, core committee of private school association will have its meeting in Bhopal to discuss the issues.”
Singh said, ” The registration fee has been increased by 10 times while renewal fee has been increased by 5 times. Similarly, we are not paid regularly for teaching the poor students. Taking such decisions without any holding meeting with private schools management is not justified. It is wrong to thrust the one-sided decision. We protest such hike in fee at each and every step.”
