BHOPAL : Press Council of India will give away national awards for excellence in journalism in a programme to be held on November 16. A jury has selected journalists for the awards.
Raja Ram Mohan Rai national award will be given under which Rs 1 lakh cash, a memento and a citation would be given to the recipient. Awards for reporting about rural conditions, development, investigative journalism, photo-journalism and best newspaper will be given to various persons and each would be given Rs 50,000 as cash prize.
Press Council of India has established these awards to felicitate journalists excelling in print and electronic journalism and also to promote free and fair media.
