BHOPAL : With a local court granting bail to computer engineer Prashant Pandey, the various agencies of MP police are apprehensive that he may sing, exposing them and their modus operandi. As an under-cover agent of these agencies, Pandey may know many things related to the mega Vyapam scam, which the agencies might not want to come into the public domain.
Police had arrested Pandey for computer hacking under various sections of IT Act. He was found in possession of a bunch of Calls Details Reports (CDRs).
ADJ BS Bhadauria, on Monday, granted bail to Pandey and his associate Sonu Kumar, on furnishing personal bonds of Rs 50,000 each.
He was sent on judicial remand last Friday. Advocate Ajay Mishra, EA Qureshi and Mukesh Rajput argued on behalf of Pandey.
Though the police are tightlipped about the CDRs recovered from Pandey it is now almost certain that Pandey used to work for Anti-terrorist Squad (ATS) and Special Task Force (STF) and other investigating agencies.
The STF used to assign him jobs related to tracking and tapping phone calls. Obviously, Pandey must be having details of telephone calls of government and other key functionaries.
When Pandey comes out from jail after furnishing bond, he may spill the beans. Rajendra Pandey said, “It is surprising why police arrested my son when he works for STF, ATS and even for police. Why police exposed their under-cover agent?”.
Many big shots like former minister Laxmikant Sharma, mining baron Sudhir Sharma, Minister’s OSD OP Shukla, Vyapam officials-ex-controller Pankaj Trivedi, Nitin Mahindra, Ajay Sen, CK Mishra, Dr Vinod Bhandari, Congress leader Sanjiv Saxena, DIG RK Shivhare and other are in jail in connection with Vyapam appointments and admissions scam.
