BHOPAL : Most of the residents of Adarsh Housing Cooperatives Society (Gautam Nagar) got their bungalows constructed after dismantling the old one just five years ago when  their houses were below the roads level. But in spite it their almost newly built houses again become   below the roads level because of repeatedly construction of roads without digging the old one.

Secondly, few of the residents got their houses constructed quite above the ground and roads level and this led flood like situation for others. This complicating situation led confrontation of residents with Bhopal municipal Corporation (BMC) for consistently negligence and lethargic attitude for de-silting drains. Even there are dispute among the residents over the increasing the level as it is problematic for the others.

Even toilets of many houses overflowed forcing the tenants to leave the rented rooms. Tenants of most of the bungalows left the rented rooms even though they had paid the advance.

Diwakar Kapade said, ” The entire area is low lying area so such problems persist. Secondly, drains are choked. We raised the issue with BMC administration many times but no concrete initiative has been taken in this regard. Still there are traces of the water logging on roads. It is big headache for us but there is no way out.”

ArchAna said, “It was very pathetic condition. We had to face brunt of excessive rain.  Even toilets overflowed. Rain water stormed into houses. Increasing the level at gate does not serve the purpose. However, many of us done this job. But it will be problematic to drain out the rainy water from campus. In fact, some of residents have constructed their houses at quite above the road level. This leads flood like situation for others. This leads confrontation and conflicts among us. We raise the objection but our objection trigger conflicts and nothing else.”

Ruchi Mahashabde said, “When we realised that our house was  below the road level as waist deep water used to storm into our house. So we dismantled and got house constructed just five years back. But now situation is again the same. In the recent spell of excessive rain, rain water flooded the campus of my house ruining house hold items. In many house toilets overflowed in rooms. Titans immediately left the rooms in many houses.”
