BHOPAL : The process of elections of chairmen and boards of directors of district co-operative banks of 32 districts of the state would begin from August 11. The elections would be held in two phases, said state co-operatives election officer Prabhat Parashar.

In the first phase, registration officers would publish list of members, dispose of objections and finalise the lists of members. This process would take 25 days. The second phase would begin from September 10, in which elections of boards of directors and chairmen would be done. The election process would conclude on September 30.

Elections would be held in district cooperative banks of Bhopal, Raisen, Vidisha, Rajgarh, Hoshangabad, Betul, Ujjain, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Shajapur, Dewas, Indore, Dhar, Khandwa, Khargone, Rewa, Sidhi, Shahdol, Jabalpur, Mandla, Balaghat, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Seoni, Gwalior, Datia, Guna, Morena, Tikamgarh, Damoh, Chhatarpur and Sagar.

For the first phase of elections, assistant commissioners and deputy commissioners of cooperatives department have been appointed as registration officers. Joint commissioners have been authorised to hear appeals against the decisions of the registration officers. The officers of cooperative department, who are working as administrators in these banks will not be involved in the election process.
