BHOAPL :  The busy road leading from Shaitan Singh Market to Trilanga has turned into a huge pothole. But neither the residents nor the construction agencies seem to be concerned.

The almost two-kilometre-long stretch of road from Shaitan Singh Market to the Aura Mall in Trilanga lies wrecked. The road was constructed some five years back by the Public Works Department.

Rajdeep Rajput, who runs a shop just across the road from the Aura Mall, said that around 5,000 vehicles pass through the road every day. He said the road had turned dangerous for the vehicle-users as well as the pedestrians.

Sangeeta Lokhande said that she and other girl students and office-going women are not able to drive their two-wheelers on the poor road. Some of them have had bad falls.

But the residents of the area were unconcerned. None of them has complained to the authorities about the poor state of the road. One of them, on much prodding, said that water-logging was responsible for ruining the road.

The EE of PWD Pankaj Vyas informed Free Press that repairs of the road was under process. After the rainy season, the road would be remettaled. Tenders for the same have been floated.
