BHOPAL : Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be felicitated by the state government at a farmers’ convention for launching a new Crop Insurance Scheme.
Modi’s office conveyed to the state government on Saturday that he would be travelling to Bhopal on February 14. In a programme at Jamboree Maidan, the farmers would express their gratitude towards Modi. As many as 2 lakh farmers across the state would assemble for this event.
Crop Insurance Scheme was recently launched by the Central government and it has several provisions regarding giving more relief to the farmers.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan during his Delhi visit had met Modi and invited him to attend ‘Kisan Sammelan’ in the state capital.
With Modi coming to the convention, the state government has assigned the responsibility of making the event successful to BJP organisation. A two-day seminar on Crop Insurance Scheme was organised in the state and the suggestions received in it, were sent to the Centre. Chauhan is excited over the inclusion of these suggestions in the Scheme. Earlier, there was buzz about Modi coming for ‘Vaicharik Mahakumbh’ during Simhastha in Ujjain but now, he would come before it.
Chief Minister Chauhan has also given instructions to the concerned officers and party organisational leaders to making preparations to ensure that the event is a big success.
