Plastic wastes to be used in road construction for better quality

Bhikangaon : Inspired with the idea of Dr R Vasudevan regarding the use of plastic wastes in the construction of roads, the 1500 meters road from Chiragpura Fate to Siroli Marg is going to be made with this technique.

The sub engineer of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Sanjeev Bhatore informed that during the departmental meeting held on May, the chief executive officer Alka Upadhyay has directed to start the use of plastic in road laying for better quality.

He further said that the road of Chiragpura is being constructed with the concrete and plastic waste and it is the first such road of the district.

CEO Upadhyay informed that the plastic coated concrete does not get damaged when exposed to rains and lasts long. Such roads can survive for more than half a decade without any damage caused by rains. After checking their durability and efficiency, department would further think of constructing all the roads through this technique, she added.

During this, district coordinator of the farmers’ association Mukesh Patel, Sawan Jaiswal, Dinesh Patil, Nar Singh Patel, and several others were present.
