BHOPAL: District and sessions court on Thursday awarded 5 years imprisonment and Rs 26 lakh fine to 14 Provident Fund employees while one employee has been awarded one year imprisonment and Rs 5000 fine in Provident Fund forgery.

ADJ Manoj Kumar Shrivastava awarded the punishment. CBI probed into matter.

Accused are Gajendra Singh, Pratap Singh, Usha Nayak, RD Prajapati, Ramchandra, Balraj Singh, Rajesh Bhalekar, Rekha Chauhan, Rajesh Kumant, Dhushyant Sonwane, Ghanshyam Dave, Manish Gaur and Ramesh Haldar. All except Ramesh Haldar have been awarded 5 year imprisonment and Rs 26 lakh fine.

Ramesh Haldar has been awarded one year imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine. Ganjendra Singh, LDC and dealing assistant, and others withdrew over Rs 22 lakh from eight PF account fraudulently within span of 2000 to 2002 in regional office of Provident Fund. Others are section supervisors.
