BHOPAL : People protested demolition of four houses just adjacent of a Jain Mandir ahead of visit of Jain community spiritual leader Vidya Sagar ji Maharaj. Even they threatened of self-immolation in protest.  The BMC administration continued its anti-encroachment drive on the third day on Sunday. On Sunday, the drive witnessed immense protest. BMC officials had to crack hard nut in removing the illegal constructions.

Mohammed Saghir said, “There was intense protest over biased drive against encroachment in the name of Acharya Vidya Sagar ji visit. BMC administration also demolished BRTS Corridor in front of Jain Mandir and in front of Sargam Talkies.

Similarly, in Shivaji Nagar, boundary was demolished in residence of selective people. So it triggered intense protest. Women opposed the kind of biased anti-encroachment drive.”  Anti-encroachment cell in charge Qamar Saqib said, “It was protest staged by local residents when four houses were razed just adjacent to a Jain Mandir. We convinced them. Otherwise, anti-encroachment drive continued peaceful.”
