BHOPAL : Patwaris have threatened to go on indefinite strike from November 20 if their one-point demand for pay revision is not fulfilled.

Earlier, they took out a rally in support of demands and handed over a memorandum to revenue minister Rampal Singh who assured to fulfil their demands. The minister also asked patwaris to resume their duty as it is time for distribution of compensation to farmers so they should not leave their talukas.

State president of Patwari Association, Prakash Mali, while talking to Free Press, said, “We will go on indefinite strike from November 20 if our demand for pay revision is not fulfilled. We took out a rally from Yadgar-e-Shahjahani Park to Neelam Park in support of the demand. In fact, CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan had assured to give the pay scale of Rs 4,500-7000 but still we are getting Rs 3,500-5,200.”
