Joint health commissioner’s surprise visit at Rajiv Gandhi hospital rocks medical staff
SIRONJ: The staff of Rajiv Gandhi memorial hospital was on toes during the surprise visit of joint commissioner, health, Pankaj Agrawal on Wednesday. Commissioner inspected every ward and store room and sought information about the arrangements at hospital from the patients admitted to different wards.
While there was all facilities in place but the commissioner found several irregularities at the Sironj hospital. The officials and employees made the facility spic and span in view of a proposed visit of health commissioner Praveer Krishna at Rajiv Gandhi memorial hospital on Wednesday. The hospital management made all the arrangements till the eleventh hour to welcome the commissioner. However, he did not turn up because of a sudden change in programme and the joint commissioner reached the hospital for inspection.
After inspection the joint commissioner held a meeting with the hospital staff and after the meeting he reached Siyalpur village where he inspected under construction sub health centre. The joint director talking to media expressed resentment over the arrangements at the hospital. He said that the hospital health department is unable to meet the objectives.
He said that the department issued budget worth crores of rupees for extension of facilities but the budget is not being used properly at the hospital. He said that the department has prepared plan to make proper arrangements at the hospitals including Vidisha hospital, Basoda hospital and Sironj hospital.
