SHAJAPUR : The race for new municipal administration had begun as the nominees filed their nomination on the last day Tuesday and began their mass campaign. Total 122 nominations were filed till Tuesday for various posts including the president and councillors.
Among the main parties, BJP’s presidential hopeful Sangeeta Bhandawat accompanied by party leaders filed the nomination while Congress candidate Sheetal Bhatt had big names to accompany her for filing the nomination.
While filing nomination Bhandawat said that there had been development works worth crores in the city and thus development will be her mantra for the election. BJP district general secretary Prem Jain and city president Kiransingh Thakur were among others who accompanied her to the collector’s office for filing nomination.
Bhatt reached the collectors office at around 1 pm with a rally to file the nomination. Former MP Sajjan Singh Verma and ex-MLA Hukum Singh Karara were among others who joined her in the rally. Bhatt while filing her nomination said that Congress will fight the election unitedly as a giant force and certainly win the president and board councillors’ posts.
