BHOPAL : The State Election Commissioner R. Parsuram, on Thursday, held a meeting with Chief Secretary Anthony de Sa, DGP Surendra Sinh and other officers regarding ensuing urban body and Panchayat elections in the state. The DGP informed that two Quick Response Teams will be present in every police station during elections. The teams will take prompt action if any untoward incident occurs anywhere.

Parasuram informed that counting of votes of urban body elections will be held at urban body headquarters and that of Panchayats at development block headquarters.

Counting for panch’s election will be held at polling booths except Chambal division where counting will be held at development block level. He informed that election symbols and colours of ballot papers will be different for election of panchsarpanch and members of Janpad and Zila Panchayats.

Parasuram also directed for posting of tahsildars and deputy collectors against vacancies and transfer of officers posted at the same place for 3 years.
