Three of a family, including a man, his wife and daughter found dead inside house in Gwalior district, on Friday morning. The young daughter’s marriage was due next month. Residents of Didar Colony in Dabra town Gwalior district woke up to a shocker on Friday, as a family of three were found dead inside their house.
While 42-year-old TV mechanic Brij Mohan alias Pappu Goswami was found hanging from the ceiling of the room, his wife 38-year-old anganwari worker Meenakshi and 20-year-old daughter Raksha were found hacked to death in the same room.
The incident came to light when Brij Mohan’s father and other close relatives who live in the other portion of the house, broke open the door of his room, which was closed from inside.
According to SP Navneet Bhasin, the Brij Mohan’s kin informed the police, after which the cops rushed to the spot, seized and sent the bodies for an autopsy. Primary investigations have revealed that Raksha, was to be married next month. Also, Brij Mohan alias Pappu regularly consumed alcohol and often had noisy brawl with his wife and daughter. “The kin told police that Pappu often physically tortured wife and daughter under the influence of alcohol,” said SP.
Primary probe based on circumstantial evidence and statements of close relatives and neighbours of the deceased suggests that Pappu could have first murdered wife and daughter with sharp edged weapon and later committed suicide by hanging self. “Though there are clear cut deep wounds unleashed by a sharp edged weapon on the neck of the woman and her daughter, the police are awaiting autopsy report of the bodies before arriving at anything concrete,” added SP.
