BHOPAL: A workshop focusing on the incubation of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, dengue, chickengunia and diseases like hepatitis, cholera, influenza, typhoid, leptospirosis, swine flu and enteric infections during monsoon among children below 5 years of age, was held at Gandhi Medical College on Sunday. ‘Monsoon Maladies’ organised by GMC Bhopal and IAP Bhopal was inaugurated by Dr. Sanjay Ghorpade, National Coordinator IAP Action Plan with his expert comments on the Module developed by Indian Academy of Paediatricians on the laboratory diagnosis, prevention and treatment of theses diseases. About 50 paediatricians from Ujjain, Sagar, Vidisha, Hoshangabad came to attend the workshop on the module developed for combating these perennial diseases which could last throughout the year. Dr. Sharad Thora, Professor and HOD, Pediatrics, MGM, Indore, Dr. Jayshree Nadkarni, Associate professor, GMC and other doctors from various cities attended the workshop.   Dr. Jayshree Nadkarni, Associate Professor, GMC said that the workshop was organised specially to deal with the diseases that are perennial like hepatitis, influenza, enteric infections, etc.
