Bhopal: Pachmarhi coldest at 3°C, Nowgaon shivers at 4.1°C

Bhopal: The cold wave has intensified in most parts of state with minimum temperatures further dipping on Tuesday. Light showers coupled with cold winds added to chill. Most parts of the state reeled under cold weather conditions as the temperature in tourist destination Pachmarhi dropped to 3 degree Celsius on Monday night, Nowgaon shivered at 4.1 degree Celsius, Meteorological department said. While Narsingpur and Sheopurkalan districts braved the intense cold day; cold condition prevailed in Betul, Rajgarh, Dhar, Indore, Shajapur and Ujjain districts.

Biting cold tightened its grip on Jabalpur, Shahdol and Rewa as the three divisions experienced rains. Majhkhand recorded 2cm rain, Mandla and Singrauli 1cm, Seoni 3.2mm and Umaria 0.8mm rainfall in the last 24 hours. Rains are likely to occur at various places in the next 24 hours. Morena, Bhind, Datia, Gwalior, Satna, Rewa, Panna, Tikamgarh, Chhattarpur, Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori woke up to a cold morning with mist and shallow fog hindering visibility.

Mercury continued its downward spiral in State capital and settled at 7.7 degree Celsius on Monday night, while the day temperature stood at 22.2 degree Celsius. Indore recorded maximum temperature of 22.6 degree Celsius and a minimum of 7.8 degree celsius
