Dewas : On the occasion of Bhutadi Amavasya, a large number of devotees took dip (snan) into the Narmada River in Nemawar on Friday. Around 3 lakh people reached the second Padhav at the river. The administration had done proper arrangements expecting the huge gathering in advance. The Nagar Panchayat Nemarwar also made some arrangements on panchayat level for comfort of the huge gathering of the devotees. The city magistrate deployed police force, home guards and highly skilled swimmers considering the security of all.
The all age group devotees started gathering at the river from late night and kept on coming full day. Under the traditional way of taking 5 dips on the occasion, it was the second dip held at Nemawar River. The first dip was taken at Salkanpur after darshan of the Goddess there. Chandrakeshwar Ghat will be the third destination for the dips (snan), being fourth in Omkareshwar and fifth at Ujjain ghats respectively.
Due to the clear instructions from the police of not taking dip into the river at Dharaji, a very thin number of devotees could take a dip. Devotees from near by places including Khwaja Bawri, Jayanti Mata temple and Seeta Mata Temples were the only ones who reached Dharaji to take a dip.
