Counting for 7 Assembly segments of Bhopal LS constituency in Old Jail
BHOPAL: Counting of votes for Bhopal Parliamentary constituency will be taken up on Friday at Old Jail premises from 8.00 am. Nearly 1000 personnel have been pressed into duty for smooth counting of votes. Director-General of Election Commission of India Akshay Singh said, “Counting of votes of seven Vidhan Sabha constituencies – Barasia, Bhopal north, Bhopal south, Bhopal central, Govindpura, Huzur, and Narela will be taken up at Bhopal. The counting of votes of Sehore Vidhan Sabha constituency will be taken up at Sehore and not in Bhopal”.
Singh said, “There will be 14 tables for each Vidhan Sabha. 950 staff will be deployed for the counting, which will be start at sharp 8.00am on May 16”. The administration has already chalked out traffic diversion plan. No traffic will be allowed towards Jail Road, court and Lal Parade Ground. Traffic from CI Colony, Police Control Room, Home Guard towards Jail has also been banned. Similarly, traffic from SBI, Maida Mill toward Jail Road via Central School no-1, state Income Tax office will also be banned.
Comprehensive parking arrangement has been made for the counting of votes. Officials and media persons will park their vehicles at fixed place in jail premises. For agents of political parties, the parking will be at PNB bank. Parking arrangements have also been made at MLA Rest House, ITIO Ground.
