BHOPAL : Ex-Minister Laxmikant Sharma’s OSD OP Shukla was granted bail while Laxmikant’s plea was turned down in Typist Recruitment Scam case on Saturday. ADJ Bhupendra Singh granted bail to Shukla.

Bharat Mishra, brother of IGP Sonali Mishra was granted bail in Transport Inspectors’ recruitment scam by ADJ Arun Kumar Verma as the investigating agency could not file challan within the stipulated 90-day period.

Earlier, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan’s ex-PA Prem Prasad and Rajendra Gurjar, OSD to former Transport Minister Jagdish Devda were granted bail in the Vyapam case. Prasad was granted anticipatory bail while Gurjar was granted regular bail. Gurjar was in jail for his alleged role in fraudulent recruitment of forest guards through an exam conducted by the scam-riddled VYAPAM.

Prasad and his daughter Anita, accused of manipulating PMT 2012 results, were granted anticipatory bail on June 22, 2014. Dhanraj Yadav, ex-OSD to Governor Ramnaresh Yadav is still in jail in the same case.

Advocate EA Qureshi, who appeared for Shukla, said, “He has been granted regular bail but he will not come out from the jail as he is facing charges in other Vyapam cases. In the same case, former minister Laxmikant Sharma was denied bail.”

JR of IAS couple Tinu, Arvind extended

Judicial custody of terminated IAS couple Arvind Joshi and Tinu Joshi was extended till October 17. They appeared in the court of ADJ DP Mishra on Saturday. Both are on judicial custody in connection with owning assets disproportionate to the known sources of income.

Advocate EA Qureshi said, “Both Arvind and Tinu appeared in the court of DP Mishra and their judicial remand has been extended till October 17.”
