‘Once upon a time…’ recreates Bihar of 2003-04

BHOPAL : Actor-turned-producer Neetu Chandra was in the city to promote her upcoming movie ‘Once Upon A Time In Bihar’ along with the protagonist of the movie Kranti Prakash Jha. The movie is set to be released on October 30.

Addressing the media persons on Tuesday at Xtreme Sports Bar, Ashima mall, Nitu Chandra said, “The story of the movie is based on real incidents, set in the year 2003 – 2004 in ravenous terrains of Buxar district of Bihar. It revolves around three characters Rajiv Kumar, an IAS aspirant, Sankar Pandey, a young graduate who was thrashed in Assam for taking Railway Board Exams, which actually happened in 2003 in Guwahati and Jeans, a dreamy folk singer, waiting to go to Mumbai, to become a star.

Story travels back to October 2003. It was the time when Bihar was facing severe problems related to electricity, roads, health services, education, crime and corruption.The best part of the film is that the whole movie is shot in Bihar, making it much different from other films,” said Chandra.

She further elaborated that “Today content-driven movies are in demand. It is a political thriller that will surely change the perception of people towards Bihar.”

Speaking about his role, young actor Kranti Prakash Jha Kranti said, “I believe Rajiv (my role) and Kranti are very much similar. As I too belong to Bihar so I know the situation there. It’s my debut Hindi movie. Earlier I have worked in some regional movies.”

Directed by Nitin Chandra, brother of Neetu Chandra, the film features new comers of the film industry including Kranti Prakash Jha, Aarti Puri Ajay Kumar and Deepak Singh. The movie also features renowned actors like Ashish Vidyarthi.
