Ratlam : This is for the second time in last one- month period that the visit of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has been cancelled on scheduled day. CM was suppose to visit Ratlam city on October 18 to take part in the local programmes and for which hectic preparations had commenced on the part of district administration. Now according to sources the chief minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan may visit Ratlam on October 19.

In the September month, the Chief Minister Chauhan was to visit to take part in the programmes including the Agriculture Mela but his programmes had been cancelled and the district incharge minister Paras Jain carried out the works at CM’s place. On October 18 the CM was to perform the Bhumi Pujan of additional land of previous alcohol plant for industrial purpose, Namkin cluster at Karmadi and some Nagar Nigam workers. Observers said that in anticipation of the visit of the Chief Minister the district administration starts preparation much in advance giving secondary importance to other issues. In September month in anticipation of the visit of CM Pandal was erected at the Kalika Mata temple ground and substantial amount was spent in preparation, which had otherwise not incurred. In the recent case, the local administration had been busy for the last few days as the programme of CM’s visit reached here and preparations had started.

In the month of September the city municipal corporation also indulged in making preparations and this time too. City which remained in the curfew from September 27 for few days and night curfew till Saturday last had witnessed immediate diversion of the priorities of the district administration, municipal corporation and the police in making preparations for the visit of the Chief Minister.

The district incharge minister Paras Jain reached here on Thursday in anticipation of CM’s visit on October 18 to assess the preparations and besides this, he took part in the local programmes. District Incharge Minister Paras Jain did not visit the city since the curfew was imposed and city people remained in abnormal situation. And for the first time thereafter he visited Ratlam city on Thursday with the different priorities including the ensuing CM visit and taking part in the local programmes.

Meanwhile, Ratlam city MLA Chetanya Kashyap in a press release on Thursday said that the programme of Chief Minister will be chalked out shortly. He said that due to holding of an important meeting of BJP office bearers and members of parliament at Bhopal on October 18 the programme has been postponed.
