BHOPAL: While the officials of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) seemed to be jubilant after Bhopal was declared as the second cleanest city in the country after Indore among 500 cities, many residents of the city seemed to be skeptical about the survey result with very few giving a thumbs-up to BMC

Akansha Verma, student: I am living in the city from the past 10 years and can say that cleanliness has improved but I don’t think that it was enough for second position.

Deepak Meena, insurance professional: It is good that Bhopal has achieved the second position which would motivate the people to put in more efforts to maintain cleanliness and put it on first spot in next survey.

Tarun Kulshrestha, student: I think there needs to be dome more on the cleanliness front. Wonder on what grounds it got the second position. It’s hard to believe for me.

Priyank Mishra, trader: No doubt, the level of cleanliness has improved but still there are nore efforts to be put. The people need to more aware about cleanliness, government alone cannot do it.

Arjun Mishra, school student: The city seems to be clean than before. We children also stop our parents or family members from putting garbage here and there.

Gulfam Khan, trader: I cannot believe that Bhopal was declared the second most cleanest city in India. The result is farce and the officials have used unfair means to achieve this feat.

Daniel Wilson, student: I live in Bairagarh area and one can easily see the pathetic condition of cleanliness there with sewage water flowing on the roads. There is surely something fishy in the survey.

Sunil Kumar, eatery owner: I believe the second position was justified as work has been done to improve the cleanliness without any doubt. Though efforts should be continued and it should not be stoppef here.

Hemant Rao, artist: It is really great news Bhopalites and the city deserves this. I think the city has good combination of natural as well as human beauty. My wish is that not only Bhopal but our country should be ranked  one across world in cleanliness.
